
Tomáš BŘICHÁČEK

Tomáš graduated from the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague, as well as the Faculty of Social Sciences at the same university, where he focused on international territorial studies and subsequently European studies. He also completed an Erasmus study programme at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris III. His interest in law, the European Union, international relations, and foreign languages soon led to his specialization in EU law and private international law. During his studies, he developed his skills as a legal assistant in a law firm, an intern at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Office of the Agent of the Czech Republic before the Court of Justice of the EU and participated in numerous academic competitions.
In 2007, Tomáš began his long professional career at the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic. Initially, he worked in the international section, where he was responsible for judicial cooperation among EU countries in civil matters and other EU-related agendas. During this time, he gained unique experience representing the Czech Republic in expert working groups of the EU Council, which discuss legislative proposals at the EU level. From 2015, he worked in the legislative department, focusing on the preparation of national legislation, particularly in the context of transposing EU directives. He also served as a liaison in the Network for Legislative Cooperation between the Ministries of Justice of the European Union, which facilitates the exchange of information on national legal regulations.
Tomáš is the author or co-author of several books and dozens of articles. In his texts, he concentrates primarily on developments at the EU level, EU law, general issues of European integration, and private international law.
Tomáš joined the KOUBÍKOVÁ LEGAL law firm in September 2025 as a lawyer. He aims to leverage his extensive experience in private international law and EU law, as well as his language skills.
