Mgr. Silvie Felix Koubíková

attorney at law

Sometimes one can love his job and at the same time use it to achieve one of his dreams. That’s the case of the founder of the law firm KOUBÍKOVÁ LEGAL, Silvie FELIX KOUBÍKOVÁ. By founding her own law firm specialized in international private law in the spring of 2017 she achieved an important milestone, towards which her twelve-year successful career was heading. The aim of the firm is to offer to its clients something more than the others – highly professional, yet customized and human approach towards each client.

„I want my clients to be able to count on their attorney, to fully trust him and to know that the attorney is doing the best for their interest, not for his wallet. I make sure that my clients are lost neither in legal dispositions nor in translation.“

Silvie started to gain her first practical experience in a law firm during her studies at the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague, when she started to work as a paralegal in a law firm in Prague. „I’ve always felt that practical experience can teach me more than just a theory and that the possibility to communicate with real clients and to solve their real cases is more efficient than to listen to lectures." In order to maximize her practical experience, Silvie also participated during her studies in an internship at the civil section of the District Court for Prague 2, during which she was shadowing the President of the Court, as well as an internship at the criminal section of the District Court for Prague 2, during which she was shadowing the Vice-President of the Court for criminal matters.

Silvie graduated from the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague in 2008, when she passed summa cum laude. She continued to work as a junior lawyer at the same law firm. Given her previous experience and the knowledge of several foreign languages, since the beginning Silvie had focused on international private law cases, in other words she dealt with cases with international element, which was represented either by a client-foreigner or by another type of foreign element. „International cases enable me to combine my two favourite branches – law and foreign languages. It also gives me the unique opportunity to gain experience in foreign jurisdictions, which is very enriching for me personally, but also very useful for my clients." Silvie has dealt with national and international cases mainly in civil law, commercial law and family law.

In 2012 Silvie passed the examination of the Czech Bar Association, once again she passed summa cum laude, and was registered as an independent attorney-at-law at the Czech Bar Association. She pursued her career at the same law firm working as senior lawyer and managing partner. Silvie kept providing legal services to her clients and also took care of several management tasks, being one of the leading persons in the firm. In 2014 Silvie was chosen by the Paris Bar Association (together with 50 other attorneys from all over the world) to participate in an internship in Paris. „For one month I took lectures in French law and EU law at Ecole de Formation des Barreaux, which is a school for future French lawyers. Afterwards I spent one more month working at the law firm of Mr Herve Boukobza, attorney at law in Paris." Silvie gained valuable experience in French law and EU law during her Paris internship, which is highly appreciated by French speaking clients of Silvie’s firm.

Law is a branch which is very dynamic and every attorney must renew his knowledge periodically. Therefore Silvie participates regularly in educational courses organized by the Czech Bar Association as well as other institutions. Since 2016 Silvie cooperates with the Czech Television and provides legal counselling in a TV programme called The Black Sheep. This activity is done on a pro bono basis. Since 2018 Silvie is a member of the Association of Family Attorneys and of the French - Czech Chamber of Commerce .
